Why I explain the work before we pour
I learned this trade pouring slabs and flatwork, the driveways, walks and patios that lie flat on the ground, on new construction sites. Then I moved over to homes people already live in, where the yard, the neighbors and the old concrete all matter. We've been in business since 2017, and most of our calls come from homeowners in Lomita and the cities around it who need a driveway, a patio or foundation work. You can see everything we pour on our home page.
Along the way I found I liked explaining the job as much as doing it. The city's own general findings describe hot, dry summers and heavy winter rains that can leave the soil expansive, so it swells and shrinks with the weather. That's why what's under your slab matters as much as the finish on top, and why I check your ground in person before I write anything down.
What working with us looks like
A bid that shows you what you're paying for
Your written estimate spells out the base prep, the control joints, which are the cuts that give a slab a planned place to crack, and the curing, the wait while the concrete gains strength before you use it. That way you can put our bid next to anyone else's and hold us both to the same standard.
The person you talk to runs your job
I come out to look at your job myself, write the estimate and then lead the crew on site, so you're never explaining things twice. We're fully licensed and insured.
Careful around your yard and your neighbors
New construction taught us the basics of a good pour, and years on lived-in homes taught us to protect your plants, your kids' space and the neighbor's driveway while we work. We keep access clear where we can and clean up before we leave.
Permit steps sorted out at the estimate
An earlier city report says Lomita contracts with Los Angeles County for building and safety, so county staff review plans and inspect permitted work on the city's behalf. We go over which office is involved in your job and who handles each step, and if a step falls to you as the owner, we walk you through it.
Cities we work in
Lomita Concrete is based in Lomita, California, and we work across the cities around it, including Torrance and Carson. The 12 cities below have their own pages, but they aren't the only places we go, so if you don't see yours, call (424) 667-0052 or send us a note and ask.
Get a written estimate for your slab
I'll come out, look at your ground and drainage, and put the prep, joints and curing in writing, free and with no obligation.
