Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Lomita Concrete website and any estimate, scheduling or work you arrange with us through it. By using the site or asking us for a quote, you agree to them.

If we sign a written contract for your job, that contract controls wherever it differs from these terms. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site, and call us instead so we can talk through your job directly.

What we do and what the site is for

Lomita Concrete is a concrete contractor in Lomita, CA. We build driveways, patios, walkways, steps, slabs, footings and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Lomita and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on the About page and see our services from the home page.

What you read on this site is general information about concrete work. It isn't a quote, a design or advice for your property, because every job depends on the soil, drainage and conditions we find when we come out.

Estimates and pricing

We give free quotes on site, with no obligation to hire us. A quote is based on what we can see and measure that day, such as the size of the area, how much old concrete comes out, the subgrade, meaning the ground the new slab sits on, access for our equipment and the finish you choose.

A quote stays good for the period written on it. If we find something once the old slab is out that we couldn't see before, like soft or wet soil, buried debris or roots, we'll stop, show you, and agree on any change in price with you before we do the extra work.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We set a pour date with you once the quote is accepted. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour for rain, extreme heat or other conditions that would hurt the finished slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. If materials have been ordered or delivered, or forms and base work have started, you may owe for that work and those materials, as your contract will say.

Payment terms

Your contract sets the price, any deposit, the payment schedule and the ways you can pay. Payment is due on the dates it lists.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. Any deposit or advance payment will follow California's rules for home improvement contracts.

Workmanship and warranty disclaimers

We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work as your written contract describes. Any warranty we give is the one in that contract, and nothing on this website adds to it.

Concrete is a natural material, so some things aren't defects. Small hairline cracks can still appear even with control joints, the cuts we make so the slab cracks along a straight line instead of at random. Color and texture can vary from one section to the next.

Our warranty doesn't cover damage from using the slab before it has cured, meaning before it has had the time we give you to harden. It also doesn't cover heavy loads beyond what the slab was built for, deicing salts or harsh chemicals, tree roots, drainage or grading changes made after we leave, earth movement, or work done by others.

Apart from what your contract promises, our work and this website are provided as they are, without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent California law allows, Lomita Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway while it cures, or for problems caused by conditions we couldn't reasonably have known about.

If we're found responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the work involved. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law doesn't let a contractor take away.

Resolving disagreements

If something about your job isn't right, call us first at (424) 667-0052 or reach us through the contact page, and give us a fair chance to come out and look. Most concerns get settled that way.

If we can't settle it together, either of us may take it to a court with authority over Los Angeles County, California, unless your contract names another way to resolve it.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies. A change won't alter a contract you've already signed with us.

If you have a question about any of this, get in touch through the contact page and we'll answer it plainly.
